SANS Recognizes SAINT®

Top vulnerability scanner endorsed for detecting SANS Top 20 Version 5 vulnerabilities.

Bethesda, MD, January 10, 2005 – SANS recently listed the SAINT® vulnerability scanner among those that detect vulnerabilities from the SANS Top 20 Version 5 listing.

According to SANS, the Top 20 is a consensus list of vulnerabilities that require immediate remediation. It is the result of a process that brought together dozens of leading security experts. They come from the most security-conscious government agencies in the U.K., U.S., and Singapore; the leading security software vendors and consulting firms; the top university-based security programs; many other user organizations; and the SANS Institute. Ross Patel, Chair of the SANS Top-20, commented, “This study is truly the experts’ consensus … reflecting the most critical internet threats as defined by the world’s leading experts and agencies. If you have limited resources for information security management, make sure you fix these concerns. If you have unlimited resources, make sure you fix these first.”
